Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Launches Youth-Focused Initiatives in Islamabad


Islamabad: In a significant push to empower the younger generation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today unveiled multiple new initiatives aimed at enhancing digital skills and volunteerism among Pakistan’s youth. The launch event, held in Islamabad, introduced programs including the Commonwealth Asia Youth Alliance Secretariat, Digital Learning Portal, AI for Youth Programme, Smart Youth Smart Pakistan, and National Volunteer Corps.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, these initiatives are part of a collaborative effort between the Commonwealth Secretariat and Intel Corporation, focusing on artificial intelligence education through self-paced modules that cover topics such as AI Introduction, AI Ethics, the AI project cycle, and no-code approaches. Additionally, the government plans to distribute one million tablets and smartphones to meritorious intermediate students to further digital learning access.



During the ceremony, Prime Minister Sharif also kicked off the nationwide registration for the National Volunteer Corps and symbolically registered himself as the first volunteer, underscoring his commitment to this cause. He expressed his dedication to providing the youth with all necessary resources to help them contribute to making Pakistan a developed and prosperous nation.



The Prime Minister voiced his optimism about the potential of Pakistan’s youth to lead the country towards future progress and development. In response to concerns raised by the captain of the National Hockey Team, Sharif assured that revitalizing national sports remains a key priority and pledged comprehensive support for these efforts.



The event also featured the presentation of the Prime Minister Youth Awards to young entrepreneurs, celebrating their contributions to Pakistan’s economic landscape.
