Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Inaugurates Jinnah Medical Complex in Islamabad

Islamabad: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif initiated the construction of the Jinnah Medical Complex in Islamabad on Sunday, setting the stage for a significant expansion in the healthcare facilities available in the region. The new complex, sprawling over 800 kanals, is designed to be a comprehensive medical institution, providing advanced treatments for critical health conditions such as lung, heart, kidney diseases, and cancer.

According to Capital Development Authority, the ceremony was marked by the Prime Minister’s vision of the Jinnah Medical Complex not only serving the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad but also extending its services to Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. The facility is intended to become a regional hub for state-of-the-art medical care, research, and training. The complex will include modern laboratories and nursing schools to facilitate cutting-edge medical training and research.

Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the complex’s role in healthcare innovation and its commitment to offering free treatment for the underprivileged. He highlighted the introduction of an air ambulance service and dedicated first aid emergency wards to manage urgent medical cases efficiently. The event was attended by notable government officials, including Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bharath, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, and several National Assembly Members.

The Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude to Prince Rahim Agha Khan for his contribution of free technical consultancy, which will play a crucial role in the establishment and success of the medical facility.
