Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Honors Promise to Balochistan Flood Victim with Scholarship

Islamabad, In a fulfilling commitment made during the 2022 flood relief efforts in Balochistan, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has facilitated a young student’s education at one of the country’s premier institutions, emphasizing the critical role of educated and skilled youth in Pakistan’s future. During a meeting on Sunday with Ikramullah, a ninth-grade student from the flood-affected area of Qila Saifullah, now studying at Lawrence College Murree, the Prime Minister reiterated his government’s dedication to supporting high achievers with scholarships to global educational institutes.

According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Sharif recalled his promise to Ikramullah during a visit to the Khasnoob camp in Qila Saifullah, where the devastating impact of the floods was palpable. The Prime Minister’s gesture of ensuring quality education for the student reflects a broader vision of fostering national development through investing in the youth. Sharif’s satisfaction with Ikramullah’s progress at Lawrence College underscores a significant step towards this objective, with the government bearing all educational expenses.

The Prime Minister’s interaction with Ikramullah also highlighted the transformational power of education, drawing parallels with similar initiatives in Punjab where high achievers were sent abroad for education and returned with enhanced confidence and skills. By providing gifts such as a pen and tablet, the Prime Minister expressed hope for Ikramullah’s continued success and encouraged him to serve the country with dedication and hard work.
