Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Encourages Youth Involvement in SMEs to Boost Economy


Islamabad: In a significant move to bolster economic growth, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has called on the youth to actively participate in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), highlighting their role in economic empowerment and skill development.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during his address at the concluding session of the two-day National Youth Convention, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of youth engagement in SMEs and announced that banks have been instructed to allocate at least forty percent of their loans to support small businesses. He expressed the government’s commitment to youth empowerment, deeming it crucial for Pakistan’s progress and stating that comprehensive efforts are being made to provide the necessary resources for youth to utilize their potential for the country’s prosperity.



The Prime Minister also outlined various government initiatives targeting education, skills development, and innovation to strengthen youth capabilities. Furthermore, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, speaking at the convention, highlighted the essential role of a strong bond among the people, the government, and the armed forces in securing Pakistan’s development and security.
