Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has extended an invitation to the United Kingdom to invest in key sectors of Pakistan’s economy, highlighting the country’s readiness to welcome foreign partnerships. During a meeting with British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott, Sharif outlined opportunities across various industries including agriculture, food security, information technology, tourism, and mining.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Sharif discussed the deepening ties between Pakistan and the UK, emphasizing the longstanding relationship that continues to grow stronger over time. He expressed Pakistan’s eagerness to attract more UK investment into the country as part of broader efforts to rejuvenate its economic landscape.
The Prime Minister also shared insights into his government’s ongoing efforts to enhance governance and implement institutional reforms. He noted the progress being made in digitizing the Federal Board of Revenue, a move aimed at improving the efficiency and transparency of tax collection processes.
During the discussions, the British delegation acknowledged Pakistan’s declaration of an education emergency and expressed support for the country’s recovery initiatives. This meeting underscores the mutual interest in strengthening economic and diplomatic ties, and fostering sustainable development in Pakistan through international cooperation.
