Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Commits to Swift Relief for Gwadar’s Flood Victims

Gwadar, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has pledged unwavering support for the immediate relief and rehabilitation of the flood-affected people of Gwadar, following a comprehensive briefing on the devastating impact of recent torrential rains and floods in the region.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a flight, the Prime Minister received detailed information from Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, the Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), regarding the extent of the damages and ongoing relief efforts in Gwadar and other flood-hit areas of the province. In response to the urgent need for support, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of leaving “no stone unturned” in providing aid to those impacted by the natural disaster.

Highlighting the necessity for innovation in disaster response, the Prime Minister directed the establishment of an advanced system for the early detection of natural calamities, leveraging modern technology and satellite capabilities. He also called for a rapid assessment and restoration of the communication infrastructure affected by the floods, underlining the need for a swift and organized approach to mitigate the impact of such disasters in the future.
