Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Commits to Eradicating Terrorism in Pakistan

Islamabad: In a strong declaration of intent, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, during a Federal Cabinet meeting held today, emphasized the Pakistani government’s and the Armed Forces’ determined commitment to completely eradicate terrorism from the nation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Sharif condemned recent terrorist activities in Balochistan and other regions, which have seen attacks on civilians and security personnel. He affirmed that the sacrifices made in the fight against terrorism will not be in vain and underscored the nation’s collective resolve to defeat terrorism.

The Prime Minister also outlined the government’s strategy, which includes bolstering the Armed Forces with all necessary resources and maintaining open dialogue avenues for those aligned with Pakistan’s constitution. He explicitly ruled out negotiations with what he termed as enemies and terrorists.

Sharif also implicated the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, claiming they orchestrate attacks from Afghanistan, and noted that the Pakistani government has engaged with Afghan authorities regarding this concern. He expressed his view that these terrorist acts aim to destabilize the country and hinder developmental initiatives, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Balochistan.

Highlighting the need for national unity against these threats, the Prime Minister announced plans to visit Balochistan for comprehensive discussions on security measures. The cabinet session concluded with a moment of silence for the victims of the recent terrorist incidents and the brother of Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain, Rana Afzaal, who recently passed away.
