Rawalpindi: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining a peaceful neighborhood while emphasizing the nation’s readiness to defend its integrity and freedom. Speaking at a ceremony at GHQ to mark Defence and Martyrs Day, he highlighted the relentless efforts of Pakistan in fostering global peace and the unwavering resolve to uphold national sovereignty.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister extolled the valor and sacrifices of Pakistani soldiers and civilians in the ongoing war against terrorism. He reiterated the armed forces’ determination to persevere in their operations against the terrorist group Fitna-al-Khawarij within the country’s borders.
In his address, Sharif also touched on regional issues, condemning the severe human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the ongoing aggression in Gaza. He called on international leaders to actively engage and address these crises to foster regional and global peace.
