Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Commits to Bolstering Pakistan’s Telecommunications Sector


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated his administration’s commitment to enhancing Pakistan’s telecommunication infrastructure, recognizing its critical role in the nation’s economic development. The Prime Minister made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation from Veon Group Jazz, led by Sir Brandson Lewis, in Islamabad today.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister praised Veon/Jazz Group for its significant contributions to strengthening Pakistan’s telecommunications linkages and sectoral growth. He highlighted ongoing government initiatives aimed at expanding high-speed internet access to the country’s remote areas, reflecting a broader strategy to promote digital inclusivity.



The delegation from Veon Group expressed strong support for the Digital Pakistan Initiative, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision to transition Pakistan’s economy towards a digital and paperless model. This meeting underscores a significant public-private partnership effort within the country’s digital transformation agenda.
