Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Calls for International Accountability for Israeli Actions in Palestine

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called on the international community to hold Israel accountable for what he described as war crimes in the Khan Younis area of Palestine. This appeal was made amidst reports of severe humanitarian crises and displacement affecting the region.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister condemned the ongoing siege and violence in Khan Younis, which has reportedly led to the displacement of over 150,000 Palestinians and severely hindered the delivery of essential supplies. Sharif emphasized the direness of the situation, labeling it a “grave crime of genocide” and urging global entities, including the United Nations, to take immediate action.

Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s proactive stance on the issue, noting that the country has already presented its concerns and called for justice at the International Court of Justice. He reiterated the necessity of implementing recent decisions by the International Court of Justice and resolutions passed by the United Nations concerning Palestine.

In addition to political support, Pakistan has contributed significant humanitarian aid to Palestine, dispatching 1,200 tons via six Pakistan Air Force aircraft and another 1,500 tons through three ships. Furthermore, Sharif mentioned special provisions made for Palestinian medical students in Pakistan, ensuring they can continue their education amid the ongoing conflict.

The Prime Minister affirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the Palestinian people, underscoring a commitment to supporting their right to self-determination and to addressing the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in the region.
