Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued a renewed appeal to the nation, urging particularly well-off Pakistanis and overseas citizens, to contribute to the Prime Minister’s relief fund dedicated to aiding Gaza and Lebanon. The call comes amid ongoing efforts to dispatch humanitarian aid to these regions, which have been heavily impacted by recent conflicts.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a review meeting focused on the aid efforts, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of a full awareness campaign to boost contributions to the relief fund. He has directed immediate logistical actions to expedite the aid process, including the deployment of two aircraft loaded with humanitarian supplies to the affected areas.
The Prime Minister also ordered the use of truck convoys to transport relief goods, which include tents, clothes, blankets, medicines, and food items, to overcome challenges posed by Israeli blockades that hinder aid delivery to Gaza and Lebanon. The government is also facilitating NGOs wishing to send relief goods to support the affected populations.
