Doha: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan has embarked on a two-day official visit to Qatar today, following an invitation from the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The visit aims to bolster bilateral relations and expand cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the areas of trade and investment.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister’s agenda in Doha includes high-level meetings with Qatari leadership to discuss a wide range of bilateral issues and potential new collaborative ventures. These discussions are expected to particularly focus on enhancing economic ties, with a significant emphasis on attracting Qatari investments to Pakistan.
During his visit, delegations from the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) and the Qatar Businessmen Association (QBA) will meet with Prime Minister Sharif to discuss investment opportunities within Pakistan. This interaction underscores the mutual interest in deepening economic relations and capitalizing on Pakistan’s growth potential.
Additionally, Prime Minister Sharif will inaugurate the cultural exhibition “Manzar: Art and Architecture in Pakistan from 1940 to present.” This exhibition is set to highlight Pakistan’s rich cultural and architectural heritage, and it aims to strengthen the cultural and people-to-people connections between Pakistan and Qatar.
