Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Awards Arshad Nadeem Rs150 Million for Olympic Gold


Islamabad: In a grand celebration held in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a cash prize of Rs150 million for Olympic javelin throw champion Arshad Nadeem, recognizing his gold medal achievement at the Paris Olympics 2024.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a banquet honoring Arshad Nadeem, Prime Minister Sharif lavished praise on the athlete for setting a bright example for youth and overcoming significant challenges to succeed. The Prime Minister’s announcements didn’t stop at the monetary reward; he also declared the naming of a road in Islamabad after Nadeem, the establishment of a high-performance sports academy at Jinnah Stadium to prepare athletes for the 2028 Olympics, and a Rs1 billion sports endowment fund.



Additionally, Nadeem will receive the Hilal Imtiaz, one of the country’s highest civilian honors, for his exceptional performance and historic gold medal win, marking Pakistan’s first in 40 years.
