Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Arrives in New York for 79th UNGA Session

New York: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in New York to participate in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). During his visit, he is scheduled to address the assembly and engage in high-level meetings and bilateral discussions with global leaders.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Sharif is set to deliver a speech to the General Assembly on Friday. His address will focus on presenting Pakistan’s views regarding various significant international and regional issues, including the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir dispute and the situation in Palestine.

The Prime Minister will use this platform to reassert Pakistan’s strong commitment to multilateralism and its support for the United Nations in its efforts to encourage worldwide peace, security, and prosperity.

In addition to his participation in the General Assembly, Prime Minister Sharif has a busy agenda on the sidelines of the session. He will partake in several crucial meetings, such as discussions on the existential threats posed by rising sea levels and the UN Security Council’s open Debate on Leadership for Peace.

Moreover, Prime Minister Sharif is expected to hold various bilateral meetings with other world leaders and also meet with the UN Secretary General.

The session is anticipated to be a gathering point for over one hundred and thirty heads of state and government from around the world, highlighting its significance on the global stage.
