Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today announced a significant expansion of the Daanish Schools network across Pakistan, aiming to enhance access to quality education for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. He revealed plans to establish new schools in Balochistan, ex-FATA, AJK, Gilgit Baltistan, and rural areas, with a school also planned for Islamabad.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister expressed his commitment during a meeting with Muhammad Ayan Kashif, a top student from the Daanish Schools who achieved first place in the Lahore Intermediate and Secondary Education examinations. Prime Minister Sharif discussed the acquisition of land for a new Daanish School in Islamabad and highlighted the broader educational strategy, which includes providing market-based salaries to attract competent teachers.
The expansion of the Daanish Schools is part of a national effort to provide high-quality education to children from less privileged financial backgrounds. This initiative is also tied to the government’s focus on technical and vocational training for the youth to enhance productivity in key sectors such as agriculture, industry, and IT.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif congratulated Muhammad Ayan Kashif on his outstanding academic achievements and presented him with a cheque for one million rupees and a laptop. Kashif expressed appreciation for the Prime Minister’s vision behind the Daanish Schools.
