Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Advocates Pakistan-China Economic Cooperation at IBI Headquarters


Beijing: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of strengthening economic and technological ties between Pakistan and China during his visit to the IBI Corporation’s headquarters in Beijing. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing bilateral trade, investment, and business community linkages as part of the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.



According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Sharif assured Chinese companies of Pakistan’s full support in expanding their business operations and highlighted the role of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0 in prioritizing areas like Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology. He invited Chinese investors to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan’s Special Economic Zones, particularly the one near Port Qasim in Karachi.



During his address, the Prime Minister noted the importance of youth in strengthening Pakistan-China relations and mentioned Pakistan’s efforts in providing technical training to young people. The visit, attended by representatives from over 150 companies, focused on promoting cross-border industrial collaboration. Upon arrival, Prime Minister Sharif was welcomed by Mr. Wang Shaofeng, Party Secretary of Fengtai District, and IBI President Mr. Qian Xiaojun.
