Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today called for calm and dialogue among all parties in Azad Kashmir to address ongoing tensions in the region.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in a statement released on social media platform X, Prime Minister Sharif detailed his directives to PML-N office bearers in Azad Kashmir to initiate talks with the leaders of the action committee. He emphasized the importance of resolving issues through discussions and peaceful protests, which he described as the hallmarks of a vibrant democracy.
The Prime Minister expressed concern over recent disturbances in Azad Kashmir, specifically condemning any actions that involve taking the law into one’s own hands or damaging government property. He expressed hope that despite the challenges posed by political maneuvering and the actions of detractors, a resolution would be reached promptly.
Prime Minister Sharif’s comments come after a direct conversation with the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, where he urged local leaders to work towards a peaceful and constructive solution to the crisis.
