Prime Minister Sharif Vows to Uphold Economic Stability Amid Challenges

Lahore: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif asserted today that his government will not allow any actions that could destabilize Pakistan’s economy, emphasizing that all scheduled international events in the country will proceed without disruption. This declaration came during a discussion with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Lahore.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister expressed confidence in the swift return to normalcy in the country and reiterated his administration’s commitment to the nation’s economic development and prosperity. He criticized political opponents for their inability to accept the improvements in Pakistan’s economy, accusing them of attempting to obstruct the country’s progress despite international recognition of its economic policies.

Sharif praised the efforts of the Interior Minister, the Islamabad administration, and the police for their effectiveness in maintaining law and order in the capital. He specifically lauded the Islamabad Police for their role in thwarting an attack on the city and acknowledged the contributions of the Pakistan Army, Punjab Police, and Rangers in this regard.

The Prime Minister also paid tribute to Police Constable Hameed Shah, who was martyred while protecting public lives and property, and directed that special care be taken of the bereaved family members. In further discussions, Minister Naqvi briefed the Prime Minister about the normalization of major roadways and informed him about the repatriation of 56 Pakistani prisoners from Sri Lanka, facilitated by Minister for Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan who covered all related expenses.

The Prime Minister commended the efforts of both Naqvi and Khan in handling the prisoner repatriation, highlighting the government’s focus on security and international cooperation.
