Belarus: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is set to embark on an official visit to the Republic of Belarus from April 10 to April 11, 2025, following an invitation from President Aleksandr Lukashenko. This visit comes on the heels of President Lukashenko’s significant trip to Pakistan in November 2024, underscoring the strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
Prime Minister Sharif will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, as well as Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, among other ministers and senior officials. The visit aims to build upon previous high-level engagements that have occurred over the past six months.
During the visit, Prime Minister Sharif is scheduled to engage in talks with President Lukashenko, focusing on reviewing progress in areas of mutual interest. The discussions are expected to lead to the signing of several agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus.
Recent interactions, such as the 8th Session of the Joint Ministerial Commission in February 2025 and a high-powered mixed ministerial delegation’s visit to Belarus in April 2025, have set the stage for this visit. These engagements highlight the ongoing commitment to strengthening the relationship between the two nations.
