Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has conveyed Pakistan’s aspiration to cultivate stronger ties with the United States under President Donald Trump’s administration, emphasizing the significance of collaboration in sectors of shared interest such as trade, investment, and counterterrorism.

During discussions with a US delegation led by Acting Assistant Secretary Eric Meyer in Islamabad, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the critical role Pakistan-US relations play not just bilaterally but also in the broader context of regional peace and security.

Acknowledging the potential for growth, Sharif welcomed US involvement in the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum and underscored the promising investment opportunities within Pakistan’s mineral sector. He encouraged American companies to prioritize investment in this arena.

Eric Meyer, representing the US delegation, extended congratulations to Pakistan for successfully hosting the investment forum. He recognized the substantial prospects within Pakistan’s mineral sector and relayed the interest of US businesses in investing there.

Meyer also reiterated the United States’ intent to work collaboratively with Pakistan on mutually beneficial issues, expressing optimism about strengthening bilateral relations in the future.
