Karachi, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has broadened the responsibilities of several federal ministers by assigning them additional portfolios, in a strategic move aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the federal ministries. This cabinet reshuffle is designed to better align the government’s administrative functions and address the multifaceted challenges facing Pakistan today.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Cabinet Division’s notification outlines the reallocation of duties among ministers to foster synergies across different sectors. Abdul Aleem Khan, Minister for Privatization, will now also oversee the Communication Division, while Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, takes on additional responsibilities for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.
Furthermore, the portfolio of National Food Security and Research has been entrusted to Rana Tanvir Hussain, the current Minister for Industries and Production. In a similar vein, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal is set to manage the affairs of Inter-Provincial Harmony, and Petroleum Minister Musadik Masood Malik has been given the Water Resources portfolio as well.
This reassignment of roles within the cabinet underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring that key sectors receive the focused attention and leadership necessary to promote sustainable development and social harmony across the country.
