Islamabad: Prime Minister Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the crucial role of defense and strategic ties between Pakistan and China in ensuring regional peace and stability during a meeting with General Li Qiaoming, Commander of the Ground Forces of the People’s Liberation Army of China.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions underscored the depth of the bilateral relationship, which enjoys widespread support across political, public, and institutional spheres in Pakistan. The Prime Minister described these ties as fundamental to the progress and development of both nations.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif and General Li reviewed the ongoing military cooperation between their countries, which they agreed serves as the cornerstone of the Pakistan-China strategic partnership. General Li affirmed China’s commitment to enhancing this relationship further, expressing a desire to advance to new levels of cooperation and collaboration.
General Li also praised the role of Pakistan’s armed forces in maintaining regional peace and combating terrorism, reaffirming the PLA’s commitment to support Pakistan in building defense capabilities. The talks highlighted the strong and enduring friendship between Pakistan and China, with a focus on their strategic and defense collaborations.
