Prime Minister Sharif Highlights Focus on Balochistan’s Development

Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the welfare of Balochistan’s people as a top priority for his government. During a key meeting on the affairs of Balochistan province held in Islamabad, he detailed federal commitments to support the region’s development and prosperity in collaboration with the provincial government.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Sharif discussed various initiatives aimed at enhancing Balochistan’s infrastructure and quality of life. These include the conversion of agricultural tube wells to solar energy to ensure sustainable agriculture practices and reduced dependency on conventional power sources. The federal government pledges to provide all necessary support for this energy transition.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister instructed that electricity load shedding in Balochistan be minimized until the solar energy transition is complete, to prevent any negative impact on agricultural output. He also called for accelerated progress on the Prime Minister’s South Balochistan Package, which involves significant developmental projects.

Additionally, Sharif highlighted efforts to ensure equal educational and employment opportunities for the youth of Balochistan, aiming to integrate them more fully into the nation’s development. He expressed optimism that the new provincial cabinet, under the leadership of the Balochistan Chief Minister, would effectively address local challenges and guide the province toward greater development.
