Prime Minister Sharif Demands Accountability for Hamas Leader’s Assassination, Pledges Continued Aid to Palestinians

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, addressing the National Assembly today, called for Israel to be held accountable for the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, an act he described as a severe setback to peace efforts. He articulated Pakistan’s and the Muslim Ummah’s deep grievances over Haniyeh’s death and strongly condemned the ongoing violence against Palestinians by Israeli forces.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the global outrage, especially within the Muslim world, over the treatment of Palestinians. He warned that without justice, public anger would likely escalate. Emphasizing the resilience of the Palestinian people, he vowed that their sacrifices would not be in vain and would lead to meaningful outcomes.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause, the Prime Minister announced continued humanitarian assistance and new initiatives to treat injured Palestinians in Pakistan. He also mentioned that Palestinian medical students would be offered placements in Pakistani institutions, advocating for unhindered humanitarian access to Palestinian territories.

Moreover, Sharif stressed the importance of utilizing platforms like the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to effectively address and support the Palestinian plight.
