Prime Minister Sharif Commits to Unwavering Support for Palestinians

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast moral, diplomatic, and political support for the Palestinian people, underscoring a commitment to assist until the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. This declaration came as the nation observed Solidarity Day with the Palestinian people, responding to ongoing Israeli actions in the region.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Sharif expressed the government’s resolve to stand with Palestinians through their struggles against what he described as unabated Israeli aggression. He stressed the importance of East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state, aligning with longstanding international and Pakistani advocacy for Palestinian self-determination.

The Prime Minister criticized recent escalations in violence, marking one year since a new wave of Israeli hostilities began. He condemned Israel’s disregard for international norms, including United Nations Security Council resolutions and rulings from the International Court of Justice. Sharif depicted the dire conditions in Gaza, highlighting the severe impacts of bombardment and shortages of essential resources like food and water on millions of Palestinians.

Highlighting the broader regional implications, Sharif noted that Israeli actions were affecting not only Palestinians but also neighboring areas, stressing that the Pakistani people deeply empathize with the hardships faced by Palestinians.
