Lahore: During an event commemorating Eid Milad-ul-Nabi, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for national unity and the adherence to Islamic principles to address the challenges facing Pakistan, including extremism and societal divisions. The Prime Minister underscored the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad as essential guidance not only for Muslims but for all communities within Pakistan.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the role of Islamic teachings in fostering a peaceful coexistence among different religious groups in Pakistan. He expressed solidarity with the oppressed populations in Kashmir and Palestine, voicing hope for their eventual freedom and justice. Sharif highlighted the importance of establishing a welfare state based on Islamic values to ensure the nation’s development and called for concerted efforts to raise moral standards in various sectors, including education and commerce.
Sharif’s speech also focused on the critical need to protect minorities and the vulnerable, aligning with the Islamic mandates of a just and moral society. He stressed that division is a tool used by enemies of Pakistan and that unity, as prescribed by the Holy Quran, is essential to counter these threats.
