Addressing officials in Lahore, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for judicious use of national resources and stressed the importance of stabilizing the economy to eventually provide relief to the populace.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting underscored the necessity of timely implementation of strategies in light of recent international developments to secure economic stability. The Prime Minister assured that the government is actively monitoring the situation, pledging to make all required decisions to maintain national economic stability. He urged government officials and ministers to embrace austerity and simplicity, calling for shared responsibility in savings across all societal sectors, particularly among the privileged and elite.

During the session, officials presented a briefing on global tensions and their potential economic impacts, noting the possible effects on Pakistan’s economy, particularly concerning energy supply and price fluctuations. The meeting also clarified that austerity measures will exempt the industry and agriculture sectors to safeguard production, exports, and food security.
