Prime Minister Outlines Economic Plans and Regional Peace Initiatives

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has pledged to bolster Pakistan’s economy in the upcoming financial year, expressing gratitude towards coalition partners and political leadership for their support in finalizing the federal budget for 2025-26.

During a Federal Cabinet meeting, Sharif commended Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and the economic team for their efforts in budget preparation. He emphasized the importance of collaborative governance in achieving economic goals.

In addressing international matters, Sharif welcomed the ceasefire between Israel and Iran, attributing the peaceful resolution to diplomatic efforts by countries including Saudi Arabia. He acknowledged Iran’s appreciation of Pakistan’s role in facilitating the ceasefire, highlighting contributions from Pakistani political and military leadership.

Sharif condemned Iran’s attack on Qatar and stressed the need for regional stability. He also instructed authorities to ensure security during Muharram-ul-Haram, emphasizing coordination among national and regional governments.

The Cabinet paid tribute to Major Moiz Abbas Shah and others who died in anti-terror operations, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism.
