Istanbul: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Istanbul for a two-day official visit aimed at reinforcing the ties between Pakistan and Turkey. The trip underscores the gratitude of the Pakistani government towards President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish people for their unwavering support during the recent tensions with India.
During his visit, Prime Minister Sharif is scheduled to meet with President Erdogan to discuss the expansion of cooperation across various sectors, including defense, economy, tourism, and culture. The discussions are expected to further solidify the relationship between the two nations.
Upon arrival at Istanbul airport, Prime Minister Sharif was welcomed by notable Turkish officials, including Defense Minister Yashar Guler, the Governor of Istanbul, and the President of the Pakistan-Turkiye Cultural Association. Senior Pakistani diplomats and government officials were also present to receive the Prime Minister.
Accompanying Prime Minister Sharif are Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi. The delegation aims to engage with Turkish counterparts to explore new avenues for mutual cooperation.
