Doha: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif engaged in high-level talks with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation across multiple sectors. The discussions aimed at strengthening strategic ties between the two nations, focusing on trade, investment, energy, and cultural exchanges, as well as addressing regional and international issues of mutual interest.
According to Press Information Department, the meeting included both delegation-level discussions and a one-on-one session. The leaders emphasized the importance of shared economic goals and regional stability, with particular attention to the ongoing conflict involving Israel and Palestine. Prime Minister Sharif commended Qatar’s stance on the Palestinian issue as articulated by the Amir during the 79th United Nations General Assembly on September 24, 2024. He acknowledged Qatar’s mediation efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid. Additionally, Prime Minister Sharif extended an invitation to the Amir of Qatar to visit Pakistan, marking another step forward in the burgeoning relationship between the two countries.
