Lahore: In a telephone conversation today, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan exchanged greetings on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, underscoring the cordial relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan. The call also covered recent diplomatic achievements and ongoing regional tensions.
According to Press Information Department, during the call, the Prime Minister conveyed his wishes to the President and the people of Uzbekistan, which President Mirziyoyev reciprocated. The leaders expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the Uzbek President’s recent visit to Pakistan. They emphasized the importance of regular follow-up on key decisions to enhance bilateral ties further.
The leaders also discussed the ongoing hostilities in Iran and the Gulf region, highlighting the urgent need for de-escalation and advocating for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve disputes.
