New York: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan engaged in a meeting with Dr. Denis Becirovic, Chairman of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency, during the United Nations General Assembly in 2026. The discussion focused on enhancing bilateral relations across various sectors, including political, economic, defense, labor mobility, education, and culture, while addressing regional and international issues of shared concern.

According to Press Information Department, the Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to deepening ties with Bosnia and Herzegovina, aspiring to establish a strong partnership grounded in trade and economic cooperation. He reaffirmed support for Bosnia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, noting the significance of regional stability on a prosperous Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Prime Minister congratulated Dr. Becirovic on the EU accession talks, highlighting Bosnia’s potential as a trade hub for Pakistani goods entering European markets.

Dr. Becirovic commended Pakistan’s role in mediating deescalation in West Asia and the Gulf, and supported Pakistan’s stance on the Indus Waters Treaty. Both leaders agreed to maintain communication to further strengthen bilateral relations, including high-level exchanges in the future.
