Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to visit Astana, Kazakhstan, for the upcoming twin Summits of the SCO Council of Heads of State (CHS) and SCO Plus from July 3-4, 2024. Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar alongside other high-ranking officials, the Prime Minister aims to reinforce Pakistan’s role and commitments within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the SCO Council of Heads of State Summit, Prime Minister Sharif will present Pakistan’s views on crucial regional and global challenges, emphasizing the country’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity and cooperation among SCO member nations. His agenda includes strengthening partnerships and discussing collaborative strategies to bolster the organization’s impact in the region.
At the SCO Plus Summit, which will host SCO member states as well as dialogue partners, observer states, and representatives from various international organizations, the Prime Minister is set to further elaborate on Pakistan’s stance on significant issues, advocating for a stronger organizational framework that benefits the people across the SCO region.
Additionally, Prime Minister Sharif is expected to engage in bilateral talks with other leaders attending the summit, aiming to deepen diplomatic ties and foster mutual understanding on key policy matters.
