Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed profound grief over the passing of Professor Khurshid Ahmed, a prominent figure in Islamic economics and a former Naib Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Prime Minister conveyed his condolences to the family of the late scholar and former Senator. He offered prayers for the elevation of Professor Ahmed’s soul in the ranks of Jannah and for strength and patience to be bestowed upon the bereaved family.

Acknowledging Professor Ahmed’s contributions, Prime Minister Sharif noted that the scholar played a significant role in the advancement of Islamic economics.

“May Allah Almighty grant him a place in Jannatul Firdous,” the Prime Minister added, reflecting on the impact of Professor Ahmed’s work in the academic and religious communities.
