Prime Minister Kakar Reiterates Strong Stance Against Terrorism in Pakistan

Lahore, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, in a recent interaction with media personnel in Lahore, has reaffirmed his government’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and ensuring national security.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Kakar emphasized the need for a strong and clear stance against terrorism, highlighting the significant loss of life caused by terrorist activities in Pakistan. He specifically mentioned armed groups like the Baloch Liberation Army, the Baloch Liberation Front, and the Baloch Republican Army, which have engaged in violent acts against the state.

The Prime Minister expressed concern over the sympathies shown by some towards terrorists, warning that these groups pose a threat to everyone, including himself. He underscored the distinction between the state’s fight against armed groups and the Baloch people, emphasizing that the conflict is not with the Baloch population but against those who take up arms.

Kakar also highlighted the broader impact of terrorism in Pakistan, noting that ninety thousand people have fallen victim to terrorism-related acts, with a shockingly low number of convictions in these cases. This has led to his call for reforms in the criminal justice system to effectively address and punish the perpetrators of terrorism.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister accused the Indian intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), of funding terrorist activities in Pakistan, underscoring the complexity of the terrorism threat faced by the country.

In conclusion, Prime Minister Kakar reiterated that the fight against terrorism is a war for the state of Pakistan, and the country is prepared to confront this challenge. He also stated that a vast majority of the Baloch people stand with the state in this fight against terrorism.
