Prime Minister Kakar Highlights Deep Ties with China in Address at Xinjiang University

Islamabad, On his visit to Urumqi, Xinjiang Autonomous Region, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar visited Xinjiang University today. He was greeted by the President of Xinjiang University, Yao Qiang, along with prominent scholars, researchers, and students. In his address, Kakar stressed that his trip marks a significant step in the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and China.

According to a news release by Press Information Department, He acknowledged Xinjiang’s strategic role in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and its historical importance as part of the ancient Silk Road. The Prime Minister spoke about potential collaboration between Xinjiang and Gilgit-Baltistan, encompassing areas like infrastructure, trade, agriculture, education, science, and cultural exchanges. Kakar also shed light on the essential role of youth in fostering bilateral relations, expressing his confidence in the younger generations of both nations to continue nurturing the bonds of friendship.
