Islamabad, In a significant meeting with Prince Rahim Aga Khan, chairman of the Executive Committee of Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif extended an invitation for further investment in Pakistan’s tourism and renewable energy sectors.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during their discussion in Islamabad, Prime Minister Sharif commended Prince Rahim for the Aga Khan Development Network’s (AKDN) efforts in establishing social welfare projects in the less developed areas of Pakistan, particularly in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral. He specifically lauded the creation of a software technology park and solar power plants in Hunza.
Further, Prime Minister Sharif encouraged AKDN to increase its investment in the tourism industry and to partner with the Pakistani government on upcoming renewable energy projects. He also congratulated Prince Rahim on receiving the prestigious Nishan-i-Pakistan award from the government, recognizing his contributions to the country.
