Prime Minister Hails Third Straight Month of Current Account Surplus


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed approval over the current account surplus, marking the third consecutive month of surplus figures. The announcement points to a positive trend in Pakistan’s economic trajectory under the current administration’s policies.



According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister highlighted that the consistent surpluses recorded in October, November, and December of 2024 are indicative of the government’s effective economic strategies. The surplus, totaling $1.2 billion in the first half of the current fiscal year, underscores the administration’s commitment to enhancing the country’s fiscal health.



Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the significance of these economic indicators, noting that they reflect a growing confidence among the business community in the government’s economic management. He also mentioned initiatives such as the “Uraan” program, which aims to provide further support to the national economy, signaling ongoing efforts to sustain and build on the current financial gains.
