Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif extended his congratulations to the newly elected office bearers of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) on Saturday, following their recent election victory.
The prime minister specifically acknowledged Kazam Khan, who has been elected as President, Ghulam Nabi Chandio as Secretary General, Ayaz Khan as Senior Vice President, and Tanvir Shaukat as Deputy Secretary General of the council.
In his message, Prime Minister Sharif expressed optimism that the newly appointed leaders will continue to uphold the values and quality of journalism in Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of their role in safeguarding the rights of journalists through CPNE’s organizational efforts.
The prime minister noted the significance of the new leadership’s election coinciding with the day of press freedom, expressing hope that they will contribute positively and effectively to the cause of press freedom in the country.
The announcement was made through the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, underscoring the government’s commitment to supporting the press and journalistic integrity.
