Islamabad, June 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stressed the importance of localization, incentivizing new products and promotion of new technologies, such as introduction of hybrid and Electric Vehicles at an early date. He was talking to Chief Executive Officer of the Indus Motor Company Ali Asghar Jamali in Islamabad. Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan Mitsuhiro Wada was also present in the meeting.

The Prime Minister urged the Japanese side to avail itself of such opportunities and enhance its investment in Pakistan. Earlier, a delegation comprising of leading Japanese companies called on the Prime Minster in Islamabad today.

Talking to them, the Prime Minister renewed his government’s firm commitment to further enhance bilateral cooperation with Japan, especially in the fields of trade and investment, telecommunication, food, infrastructure and other important sectors. He constituted a Special Committee to resolve the issues faced by Japanese companies in Pakistan on a priority basis, aimed at removing impediments in the way of attracting Foreign Direct Investment in Pakistan.
