Prime Minister AnwaarulHaq Kakar Orders Resolution of Farmers’ Issues in Balochistan

Karachi, In a decisive move to bolster the agricultural sector in Balochistan, Caretaker Prime Minister AnwaarulHaq Kakar has directed the provincial government to urgently resolve the longstanding issues faced by farmers, particularly concerning electricity and irrigation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a meeting with the Farmers Action Committee of Balochistan in Quetta on Tuesday, the Prime Minister was briefed about the critical challenges impeding agricultural productivity in the province. Key issues highlighted included the irregular electricity supply to agricultural tube wells and the persistent problem of power loadshedding, which have significantly affected farming operations and yields.

Addressing these concerns, Prime Minister Kakar stressed the importance of the agricultural sector to the national economy and the livelihoods of people in Balochistan. He instructed the Chief Secretary of Balochistan to ensure a consistent electricity supply to agricultural tube wells, which are vital for effective irrigation and crop cultivation. The Prime Minister affirmed that supporting the welfare of farmers and enhancing the agriculture sector are among the state’s top priorities.

This directive is expected to provide muchneeded relief to the farmers in Balochistan, who have been grappling with infrastructural and administrative hurdles for an extended period.
