Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar Discusses Regional Cooperation with ECO Ambassadors

ISLAMABAD, Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar convened with the Ambassadors of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Member States at the Prime Minister House today over a lunch meeting. The gathering aimed to underscore the vital role of the ECO in fostering regional development, while also addressing shared historical, cultural ties and the collective challenges faced by the region.

According to a new release by Press Information Department (PID), Prime Minister Kakar used the opportunity to highlight the various areas that are crucial for regional progress, including connectivity, trade, energy, and economic cooperation. He expressed Pakistan’s eagerness to bolster bilateral relations with each of the ECO member countries. Additionally, he shared his anticipation for the upcoming meetings with the Heads of States of ECO Member countries during the 16th ECO Summit in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, scheduled for November 8-9, 2023.

The Ambassadors, representing their respective countries, reciprocated the sentiments expressed by Prime Minister Kakar. They reaffirmed their countries’ commitment to strengthening ties with Pakistan and underscored their collective dedication to realizing the vision and objectives set forth by the ECO. This gathering was a significant step towards fostering regional cooperation and addressing mutual challenges for shared prosperity.
