ISLAMABAD, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has confirmed the government’s commitment to support Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) throughout the entirety of its privatization process.
According to a new release by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister chaired a comprehensive meeting on Monday in Islamabad, focusing on the affairs of PIA and the progression of its privatization. During the meeting, Kakar emphasized the need to expedite the privatization process and requested regular updates on its developments.
The Prime Minister highlighted the fiscal responsibility of the government, stating that the privatization of loss-making state-owned enterprises like PIA is a strategic move to conserve public tax money. The meeting also involved a thorough briefing on PIA’s current financial status and the steps being taken toward its privatization.
