Islamabad, In a significant push to enhance trade facilitation and ease of doing business, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has advocated for a nationwide rollout of single window operations. This initiative aims to streamline the provision of civic amenities across Pakistan, mirroring successful models such as China’s.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a meeting with the Pakistan Single Window Company, Prime Minister Sharif praised the company’s efforts in facilitating 65 percent of the country’s trade through its services. The company, which integrates services from 11 government institutions and 29 banks, has been recognized as a regional leader in digital and sustainable trade facilitation by the United Nations. Expanding this model nationally is seen as a strategic move to improve service delivery and enhance the ease of doing business in Pakistan.
