Price Monitoring Committee Reports Drop in Key Food Item Prices.

ISLAMABAD: The National Price Monitoring Committee in Islamabad was briefed today on the reduction in prices of several essential food items, including poultry, pulses, potatoes, rice, sugar, and flour, as well as a decrease in transport fares.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Chief Statistician Naeem-uz-Zafar delivered the information during a meeting chaired by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal. The briefing highlighted the positive trend of declining prices in critical commodities, which could have significant implications for consumers and the economy.

During the meeting, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the importance of ensuring that the benefits of global price reductions are transferred to the populace. He underscored the necessity of monitoring domestic prices closely to ensure fair consumer access to these essential goods at lower costs.

The reduction in transport fares was also acknowledged, suggesting a broader trend of easing expenses beyond just food items. This development could potentially alleviate some financial pressure on households, providing a much-needed relief in everyday expenditures.
