Presidential Elections Set for Tomorrow in Islamabad

Islamabad, Pakistan is poised to elect its 14th President for a five-year term in the presidential elections scheduled for tomorrow.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the contest is primarily between Asif Ali Zardari, the joint candidate from the PPP and PML-N, and Mahmood Khan Achakzai, representing the Sunni Ittehad Council. The President of Pakistan is chosen by an electoral college, which includes members from the Senate, National Assembly, and all four provincial assemblies, with the vote conducted via a secret ballot.

A joint session of Parliament will convene in the Parliament House in Islamabad, where members of the National Assembly and the Senate will cast their votes. Similarly, the provincial assemblies are scheduled to conduct their sessions concurrently. The polling process is set to commence at ten in the morning.
