Presidential Campaign Promotes Regular Breast Cancer Screening

Islamabad, 14 Oct 2023: In a steadfast commitment to reduce the breast cancer mortality rate among Pakistani women, the President’s Office persists in its annual breast cancer awareness drive this October, with a pronounced focus on the paramountcy of regular screening. According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MOIB), for four consecutive years, President Dr. Arif Alvi, along with his wife Samina Alvi, has championed the cause, dedicating efforts to enhance breast cancer awareness across the nation.

This year’s campaign bears a specific emphasis on promoting self-examination, underscoring the crucial role of early detection and timely treatment in mitigating the impacts of breast cancer. The initiative, steered by the Presidential couple, provides a pivotal platform to disseminate essential information, offering resources and guidance regarding self-examination and other screening processes, which have been demonstrated to be instrumental in enhancing survival rates among breast cancer patients. Through the campaign, they aspire to usher in a cultural shift towards more proactive healthcare management among women, steering conversations and actions towards preemptive measures against the disease.

The dedication of the President’s Office to this cause reflects a broader commitment to health and wellbeing within the nation, situating preventative healthcare and awareness at the forefront of national discourse. The ongoing efforts by President Alvi and Mrs. Alvi signal a significant stride towards dismantling barriers to healthcare information and ensuring that knowledge pertaining to breast cancer permeates through all strata of society, paving the way towards a more health-aware nation.
