President Zardari Urges Polish Businesses to Invest in Pakistan


Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has extended an invitation to Polish businesses to explore joint ventures and investment opportunities in Pakistan’s special economic zones. The invitation was made during a meeting with Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radoslaw Sikorski, who visited Islamabad.



During the meeting, President Zardari emphasized the long-standing ties between Pakistan and Poland, highlighting the countries’ mutual respect and cooperation. He expressed a strong desire to deepen political, economic, and cultural engagement between the two nations.



President Zardari identified significant potential for expanding bilateral trade and investment, particularly in sectors such as renewable energy, information technology, agriculture, and mining. He also underscored Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability, and its role in promoting connectivity and economic integration in South and Central Asia.



The President welcomed Poland’s support for Pakistan in the European Union and stressed the importance of continued collaboration on global and regional issues. Discussions during the meeting also included enhancing cooperation in education, defense, and people-to-people exchanges.



Deputy Prime Minister Sikorski expressed Poland’s interest in strengthening its bilateral partnership with Pakistan, with a focus on enhancing trade between the two countries. The Polish delegation included Ambassador Maciej Pisarski and Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Interior and Administration, Maciej Duszczyk.



The meeting was also attended by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Senator Sherry Rehman, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, and the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
