Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to enhancing bilateral relations with Saudi Arabia across multiple sectors, including economy, trade, defense, culture, education, and interpersonal connections. These remarks were made during his address at the Saudi Arabian National Day Reception, which celebrated the 94th anniversary of the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari conveyed his warm congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, and the people of Saudi Arabia. He noted that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share exemplary relations that have stood the test of time, particularly during challenging periods.
The President praised the forward-looking vision of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, acknowledging the substantial advancements Saudi Arabia has achieved under his leadership. He voiced optimism that the Crown Prince’s bold initiatives would continue to drive the kingdom towards further progress and prosperity.
Expressing gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s ongoing support and for hosting approximately 2.7 million Pakistani citizens who contribute to the kingdom’s socio-economic landscape, President Zardari also voiced confidence in the enduring strength of the bilateral ties. He emphasized the mutual commitment of both nations to furthering their partnership, fostering unity among the Muslim community, and promoting regional and global peace and stability.
The reception, marking a significant diplomatic occasion, saw attendance from federal ministers, diplomats, dignitaries, and top civil and military officials, underscoring the deep and multifaceted relationships between the two countries.
