ISLAMABAD: A delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Jihad Azour, met with President Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad on Friday, focusing on discussions about the country’s economic situation and the ongoing IMF programme.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, and other senior officials attended the meeting. The discussions highlighted the current economic condition of Pakistan and evaluated the progress of the IMF programme.
President Zardari commended the IMF initiative, saying it has been instrumental in stabilizing Pakistan’s economy. He emphasized that the programme is expected to further drive economic growth within the country.
The President recognized the significant role played by the IMF in supporting economic development in emerging markets like Pakistan. He expressed appreciation for the IMF’s contributions to the nation’s economic advancements.
The visiting delegation conveyed satisfaction with the economic reforms implemented in Pakistan and confirmed that the IMF programme is on a positive trajectory.
